Some Golf Range Practice Tips From The Professionals

Warm Up

You use this before you play and practice

Start with a sand wedge

2 X 1/4 swings

2 X 1/2 swings

2 X 3/4 swings

4 X full swings

Warm Down

Reverse the warm up

Target

Working on distance control and accuracy

E.g. aim at the hundred yard flag

Monitor if the club you select consistently lands level with the flag, if not pick a club that does.

Then check for accuracy of your shots

Technique

You practice the part of your swing that you are working on with no concern where the ball goes

DO NOT LINK THE DIFFERENT TYPES OF PRACTICE TOGETHER - THIS LEADS TO UNPRODUCTIVE SESSIONS

IDEAL PRACTICE SESSION WITH 30 BALLS BEFORE YOU PLAY

Warm up 10 balls

Target practice 10 balls

Warm down 10 balls

IDEAL PRACTICE SESSION WITH 60 BALLS

Warm up 10 balls

Technique Practice 30 balls

Target Practice 10 balls

Warm down 10 balls

Practice Ground

Short game area

This is a designated practice area specifically for improving your short game.
It is located beyond the practice driving range, and is accessed with care by walking along the hedge line to the right of the practice ground.

There are four greens here with flags, together with a bunker for practice coming out of sand.

When using range balls in this area please bring  the range balls back  as they cannot be picked up by machine.
