Men's Club Matches
The Gentlemen’s section has a varied fixture list against other local golf clubs and golf societies.
All members are entitled to be considered for selection for these matches, but the Captain will be responsible for the final team selection.
A book detailing all the fixtures is available in the foyer. Members are encouraged to add their names to those wishing to be selected for individual fixtures, as this will assist the Captain in selecting teams.
It is the policy of the club to encourage as many members as possible to participate in club matches. It is a great way to play other courses!
The majority of fixtures include 18 holes of 4-ball better ball match play golf followed by a sit down meal. As all the matches are friendlies, although played competitively, the pairings are traditionally high and low handicap and the games are played off handicap.
Please note that collar and club tie attire is normally required for the meal.
Members will be asked to pay for the meal but will not have to pay any green fees for away matches.
Scratch Team
The L&RGU Scratch League comprises 5 Divisions.
The Leicestershire Golf Club is proud to be in Division One along with Birstall, Cosby, Kirby Muxloe and Longcliffe Golf Clubs.
Each team consists of 8 players, who play scratch, match play singles against each club on a "Home & Away" basis. Details of all the Leicestershire fixtures are available on the website.Supporters are very welcome.
The golf tends to be of a very high standard and you are unlikely to represent The Leicestershire Golf Club in this Team unless you have a handicap of 2 or better.
Adrian Jones is the current League Team Captain and any member who has aspirations of playing for the club in the League Team should contact Adrian.
