| 9th | Hinckley | Away | 16 | Lost 7-1 |
Lovely sunny day. Birdies required to win a hole! |
| 19th | Wollaton Park | Away | 12 |
Lost 3 1/2 - 2 1/2 |
It was a cool overcast day with rain forecasted, which never materialised. Course was in good condition, with the greens a little slow and difficult to judge after "treatment". The fallow deer made for a picturesque setting and some really good golf was played. We enjoyed a superb carvery meal and excellent company in a convivial atmosphere. |
| 22nd | Western Park | Away | 12 |
Won 4 - 2
|
The sun shone, the sky was blue, the grass was green, the fairways wide and forgiving, the greens true, the golf and company was relaxed and enjoyed by all, resulting in a perfect end to a perfect day - a win for The Leicestershire!! |
| 28th | Glen Gorse | Home | 16 |
Draw 4 - 4 |
Once again the greens played a crucial part in the annual rivalry with Glen Gorse, where the pace and direction was difficult to judge due to the slope. However, honour was satisfied all round with a draw after a thoroughly enjoyable competition, followed by another convivial and excellent repast in the dining room. |
| MAY | |||||
| 5th | Scraptoft | Away | 16 |
Lost 5 1/2 - 2 1/2 |
The Seniors thoroughly enjoyed being hosted by a very hospitable Scraptoft team. The weather kept good for us, the fairways were lush and trim, but the greens were a tad slow. Our hosts on this occasion managed a convincing win. |
| 13th | Kirby Muxloe | Home | 12 |
Halved 3 - 3 |
The course looked sculptured, trees and blossoms colourful, a credit even to a garden landscape by Capability Brown, with the weather still resulting in the best golfing day and the best day's golf with the honours shared. |
| 19th | Lingdale | Away | 16 |
Halved
4 - 4 |
Lingdale, in the middle of the Charnwood Forest, looked immaculate but for some greens being "treated" on the second 9 holes which posed some degree of difficulty. On the warmest day of the year so far and in view of the often difficult terrain the team of 16 fought hard to achieve a creditable draw. |
| 26th | Stoke Rochford | Home | 16 |
Won 4 1/2 - 3 1/2 |
Showers were forecast, but didn't materialize, so the conditions were relatively ideal despite the drought. After a hard fought match against our capable opponents, Stoke Rochford, we managed a well earned victory |
| JUNE | |||||
| 3rd | Northants. County | Home | 12 |

The weather was perfect, the course and greens looked superb, the golf and company excellent, the meal appetizing and the result near perfect with a win for The Leicestershire. |
| 7th |
Greetham Valley | Home | 16 |
Won 41/2 -31/2 |
Under threatening skies the team resisted the Greetham Valley "threat" and achieved a deserved and hard fought victory before enjoying a relaxed, convivial and satisfying repast which was complimented by our visitors. |
| 9th |
Willesley Park | Home | 12 |
Won
31/2 -21/2 |
After a late start due to adverse weather and traffic conditions for our visitors we were fortunate to experience a warm but humid day with late sunshine but nevertheless a thoroughly enjoyable days golf with some excellent company, ending in a satisfying win for the Leicestershire. |
| 16th |
Rothley Park | Home | 12 |
Lost 4 - 2 |
The weather and course condition were both exceptional, the matches were played in excellent spirit, and the lunch was a very convivial affair. |
| 28th |
Kilworth Springs | Away | 16 |
Lost
6 - 2 |
On one of the hottest days of the year so far, with the pungent smell of new mown hay, the Seniors fought valiantly on a course where the terrain is somewhat different and challenging, but unfortunately lost 6-2. Excellent company however ensured that we all enjoyed the occasion. |

JULY |
|||||
| 7th | Market Harborough | Away | 16 |
Lost 6 1/2 - 1 1/2 |
The Seniors enjoyed a challenging and physically demanding & punishing contest at Harboro', due to the terrain, which proved too difficult to conquer. However the "festivities" afterwards renewed our vigour and good humour. |
| 12th |
Charnwood Forest | Home | 12 |
Won 3 1/2 - 2 1/2 |
The current spell of fine weather broke for our home fixture against Charnwood, but despite showers to begin, culminating in quite a heavy downpour, the team recorded a win after a hard fought contest which was thoroughly enjoyed by all participants, with honour satisfied all round. |
| 22nd |
Longcliffe | Away | 16 |
Lost 6 1/2 - 1/2 |
The long course and sloping "wild" terrain posed many challenges to the team. The pace of the greens was difficult to judge, aggravated by several being covered in sand. Longcliffe were eventual worthy winners on a day when spells of rain complicated play. A convivial meal compensated for our disappointment. |
| 26th |
Cosby | Home | 16 |
Halved 4 - 4 |
On a warm muggy day, with intermittent spells of light rain, the team thoroughly enjoyed a relaxed and convivial game culminating in a draw with honour being satisfied on both sides. |
| 29th | Luffenham Heath | Home | 16 |
Won 4 1/2 - 3 1/2 |

| AUGUST | |||||
| 2nd |
Kibworth | Home | 12 |
Won 5 - 1 |
A convincing win for the Seniors against Kibworth on what was an excellent golfing day. The course was in superb condition and praised by our visitors, the greens true and a credit to the ground staff, but they proved to be too difficult for the visitors . |
| 4th |
Stoke Rochford | Away | 16 |
Lost 7 1/2 - 1/2 |
On a day that was nearly a "washout", due to the weather, the team narrowly avoided a "whitewash" at Stoke Rochford by the narrowest of margins. But nevertheless, as usual, it proved to be an occasion thoroughly enjoyed by all! |
| 9th | Whetstone | Away | 16 |
Lost 5 - 3 |
On this inaugural fixture at Whetstone, on a course much improved over recent years, "water" and "open ditches" were prevalent on several holes in strategic areas. This, together with lack of familiarity with the course, which was in good general condition under the circumstances, resulted in a win for the hosts. |
| 13th |
Park Hill | Away | 12 |
Lost 4 - 2 |
The warmth of the hospitality at Parkhill on Fri. 13/8 (yes Fri. 13th) made up for the inclement weather with heavy squally showers when the Seniors lost, despite the welcoming and forgiving course with wide fairways and huge greens. |
