Beefy’s Charity Foundation Golf Challenge
21 July 2016
Sir Ian Botham and Shane Warne arrived by helicopter this morning to play Hole 5 of their 18 hole round around England. Sir Ian hit a huge drive down the first fairway at TLGC and walked away with a par! They and the 6 players with them were very pleased with the reception they received and were full of praise for the excellence of our first fairway and the quality of our green. Sir Ian and Shane signed cricket bats and other memorabilia before they left.

Many members may have seen the player on the right on the putting green or the practice area in recent weeks at TLGC. Himmat Singh Rai, is currently playing on the Asian Professional Golf Tour, the third largest golf tour in the world.
Himmat has been practicing at TLGC since 2010 and has highlighted the excellent facilities at TLGC as instrumental in helping his game improve and his good results on tour. Himmat now has a summer home in Leicester in Stoneygate and once again, has been given access to TLGC. He will be featuring the LGC logo on his tour bag and include our name on his tour events when he enters European Tour events.
Himmat has played with Rory Mclroy, Sergio Garcia and KJ Choi, to name a few. His best ranking was 16th on the sian Tour in 2011 and is currently ranked 57th, with the major part of the season still to play.
Himmat is likely to play in the Alfred Dunhill Links European tour and Czech Open European tour later this year.
