The Leicestershire Bramble
Saturday, 25th March, 2017
Also, an exciting opportunity to play with a member of our Champion Scratch Team
The Leicestershire Bramble. A Bramble tournament starts off just like a scramble - the members of each team (usually four players per team) tee off, and the best drive is selected. However, in a bramble, after the best drive is selected, ALL players play from that spot and then continue playing their own ball, stroke-play style, until each has holed out, producing four individual scores.
Therefore, unlike a scramble, you get to play a complete round of golf.
Scoring: STABLEFORD Handicap Allowance: 90%
3 Tee shots must be used by each player.
Best score on first six holes.
Best two scores on second six holes.
Best and worst score on last six holes.
Those beating the Captain/Pro team win back their entry fee, paid by the Captain”. ):
The WINNING TEAM are invited to play a round of golf, with the Captain Francis Lobo and the Professional Tim Stevens at COXMOOR golf club in Sutton-in-Ashfield. A heathland Open Qualifying course and accredited by England Golf as a Championship Venue.
Entry fee: £10 per team. Sign up ASAP.

New Local Rule for Implementation in 2017
The R & A has recommended a new local rule for implementation in 2017. It modifies rules 18.2, 18.3, and 20.1. Head Professional Tim Stevens explains:
"When a player’s ball lies on the putting green, there is no penalty if the player, his partner, his opponent, or any of their caddies or equipment accidentally moves the ball or ball-marker.
The moved ball or ball-marker must be replaced as provided in Rules 18-2, 18-3 and 20-1.
This Local Rule applies only when the player’s ball or ball-marker lies on the putting green and any movement is accidental.
Note: If it is determined that a player’s ball on the putting green was moved as a result of wind, water or some other natural cause such as the effects of gravity, the ball must be played as it lies from its new location. A ball-marker moved in such circumstances is replaced."
